You sowed in the spring, you nurtured and seeded, watered and weeded...
You enjoyed the results of your labour... beautiful flowers from your annuals and vegetables also. Now that the season is near its end, why not harvest them? Collect the seeds from your favorite plants, sort them in bags, label them and save them for planting in your garden next year!!!
Most annuals will grow well from seeds. Portulaca, cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers are but a few. Hybridized annual seeds will not reproduce exactly like their parents but might give you interesting results.
Collect the seeds from your vegetables also. This is a great family experience and brings you back to nature. With the added benefit of both Saving our Planet and our pocketbooks. Think about "plot rotation" to decrease the need for fertilization.
Consider starting a seed trading system with friends, families and neighbours. Any more tips that we can share with each other to help Save our Planet and some $$$ also?
