Safety Tips for New Tecumseth Trick or Treaters

Kathy Streib, a Palm Beach County Home Stager and Active Rain Blogger shared these timely Safety tips for Halloween Trick or Treaters... I thought it went well with Chrissy's Saftey tips for Homeowners on Halloween, so I thought I would share it with you.

If you are thinking of buying or selling Real Estate in Angus, Everett, Lisle, New Lowell, Glencairn, or in the New Tecumseth communities of Alliston, Beeton or Tottenham, call me, Chris Smith, @ 1.866.936-3500 for information and or assistance in helping you achieve your goal.

Halloween Safety Tips- Safety First, Then the Candy!

Trick or TreatPlease make sure your Halloween is full of Treats and not on Tricks!  I love this holiday because it’s the one holiday with no pressure to buy gifts for everyone and no family pressures and traditions to follow.  All you have to do is have fun!

But, please make sure your children are safe so the little goblins and ghosts will be back again next year.   Here are a few tips:

1.  Make sure you and your children can be seen!  Kids love the glow sticks and necklaces, so you won’t have any trouble getting them to wear them.  You can also put reflective tape on their costumes and bags.  And carry a flashlight!
2.  Make sure your costumes are flame retardant.  In addition, have your little ghosts walk around in them to check for “tripping” hazards.  And if they are wearing a mask, make sure the holes are large enough for them to see where they’re going!

3.  The excitement of free candy can cause little (and big) ones to forget to look both waysTrick or Treat when crossing the street, so please make sure there’s an adult with the little goblins and ghosts at all times.

4.  And, it is unfortunate, but make sure all candy is inspected before it is eaten.  Know where your children are going and if you see something questionable remove it!

Parents- if you are driving in the neighborhoods, please drive very slowly and watch out for our little Treaters.  A sugar high and the excitement of the night can cause them to forget about all of the safety tips they’ve learned in school.

Happy Halloween!
